Hair Restoration

We are Calgary's top choice for non surgical Hair Restoration treatments and have performed hundreds to date!

How does it work? Our hair restoration process increases blood supply to the follicle and increase the thickness of the hair shafts. It will also trigger and maintain the growth phase and control your hair growth cycle not to mention slowing the progress of hair loss. Our own blood plasma contains “platelets”, which carry many powerful proteins and enzymes known as “growth factors".

In the last few years, this process has emerged as an intriguing preventative treatment for hair loss, suitable for both men and women. By separating your own blood (as described above) and injecting the "liquid gold" sample into your scalp, it is believed that any stem cells around your targeted hair follicles are kickstarted into action. The result is that new hair growth can be promoted, even with follicles that had previously been inactive.

Hair restoration can also be used in conjunction with all hair loss medications (talk to your Doctor or our Doctor about which medication might be best for you). You can also use it to complement any hair transplant procedures, the injections working to stimulate the newly planted follicles in your scalp.

As with all hair loss treatments, results vary from patient to patient, but our hair restoration therapy has shown to improve hair caliber and hair thickness. For optimal results we recommend that you you start with three treatments (one every month) followed by 1-2 maintenance treatments per year.

How Does Hair Restoration Work?

This is a newer non-surgical approach for hair restoration that involves injections done with our Vital injector of your own concentrated blood to stimulate hair growth. Your blood is collected into specially formulated vials and then spun in a centrifuge separating the blood into various layers. A specific layer is isolated from the rest of the blood, we then injected it back into your scalp with our Vital Injector which makes your treatment so much more comfortable.

Different forms of hair loss

Hair Loss in Men

Hair loss in Men can be the result of heredity, hormonal changes, medical conditions or a normal part of aging. Anyone can lose hair on their head, but it's more common in men. Baldness typically refers to excessive hair loss from your scalp. Hereditary hair loss with age is the most common cause of baldness.

-Male-pattern baldness
-Recedes to “M” shape
-Thins at crown
-Recedes further into complete or partial baldness

Hair Loss in Women

Female-pattern baldness is a pattern of hair loss (alopecia) caused by hormones, aging and genetics. Unlike male-pattern baldness, female-pattern baldness is an over-all thinning which maintains the normal hairline.

-Thins evenly, all over the scalp
-Receding hairline is much more rare in women
-Rarely leads to total baldness

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What Are The Risks And Benefits Of Hair RESTORATION Treatments?

This is a fairly comfortable, non-surgical procedure that takes approximately 1 hour. Most patients notice a brief period of inflammation during which their scalp remains somewhat pink and numb for a few hours. Swelling is rare (about 15% of the time) and if it occurs is noticeable in the forehead or around the eye area on the next day. Any swelling takes about a day or two to resolve. Hair growth improvements can typically be measured in about three months, but it takes six to twelve months to visually “see” the difference in photos and in the mirror. Patients with certain blood disorders or on certain medications may not be candidates for these treatments. This is considered immunologically neutral and poses no risk of allergy, hypersensitivity or foreign-body reactions.

What Is The Treatment Schedule Like?

Experts suggest that 4 treatments are needed, spaced 4 weeks apart for each visit. Once you've had your first series of treatments, you should plan to have one or two treatments per year for maintenance.

Is There A Recovery Period Or Downtime After the Treatments?

There is no activity restriction after your treatment. Patients may wash (shampoo/condition) their hair 24 hours. Some brief mild inflammation noticeable as redness/pinkness and numbness of the scalp may be present for several hours. No harsh chemical coloring or perming treatments should be performed for at least 2 weeks. Use of topical hair growth treatments like Minoxidil or similar can resume the next day.
